Holiday Cottages

You may not know, but I am a bit of a local celebrity around these parts and I like to think the recognised leader of all the animals around the Farm (including the two-legged animals that feed me and wear funny clothes).

When I get a chance between making sure the Chickens are happy, the Pigs behave themselves and the Geese don't fly away, I will be updating you with all the latest shaggy dog tales from the farm.

Keep checking back for the real truth about life at South Worden Farm.

Where did summer go? Once again the swallows have gone and we are waiting for the starlings to come to stay.

There has been lots of changes on the farm this summer such as new fencing between the cottages, more concrete down at the stables, lots of flowers planted and a poly tunnel. The area by the workshop has been cleared ready for more fruit trees.

Once again we have had lots of nice guests come to stay with us, some of them had sunny weather!

Whilst we have had more piglets and lambs having fun escaping, we have said goodbye to Charlie Dog. He was a very special friend to all who knew him and is missed so much.

The leaves are starting to fall so I will be enjoying chasing them again and in November we are having a hedge laid down the field which means more sticks to try and play with( I know they are dangerous but I can’t help myself, I am a dog after all!)

Well that’s all for now.

Happy autumn

The holiday season is gathering pace and here on the farm life is calming down after lambs and the piglets arriving. The owl box was occupied by crows but they have moved on and the swallows have hatched their first lot of babies in the stables and they look like they are getting ready for a second lot. I love watching them flying around in the evening feeding.

We have all enjoyed the sunny hot weather, there is nothing better than chilling out under a tree whilst Maggi works in the garden. We have had a few visits to the beach which is just brilliant, my favourite place is Sandy Mouth, Bude. When the tide is out Charlie Dog and I have a great time chasing a Frisbee thrown a long way by Charlie Man.

Charlie Dog and I have met some very nice canine guests and the human kind as well.

Here’s wishing you all a happy summer.

Spring is in the air, the daffodils are blooming and the birds are starting to nest. Here on the farm we have lots of babies due in April. The pigs are due to farrow on April 11th and the sheep start on April 12th so I don’t think there will be much fun for me that week! (Second thoughts I could have a lot of fun!)

The holiday season will be starting soon which means Charlie dog and I get to meet more canine guests, we love that!

We are looking forward to a long, hot summer so that we will get walks on the beach and a chance to swim in the sea again.

Apologies for taking so long to write another blog but I have been busy studying for my Blog Diploma and doing farm stuff.

Well! What a summer I have had, I have met lots of lovely people who came to the farm for their holidays and some of them bought some interesting dogs who I really enjoyed meeting (Charlie Dog also loves meeting new people and canines)

In April there were lots of bleaty things born ( I think they are called lambs) and in June there were lots of squealy things born( Charlie Dog told me they are called piglets) in the barn there was lots of flighty things born (I think they are called Swallows) so all of that means I am no longer the baby of the farm!

All of the leaves are falling off the trees so that means it is autumn, I love it, more things to chase and eat!

Anyway, till next time have fun and take care.
